Four Season of Pick Your Own and Family Fun

Each of the Four Seasons of the year have unique beauties and opportunities at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm.

Spring-time at the Farm – Farmer Johnson begins work in the fields to prepare the soils for varieties of plantings for bountiful fresh produce for you to pick and enjoy late spring thru late fall.  Strawberries will be ready for picking around the middle of May!

Summer-time at the Farm –  Farmer Johnson and his helpers keep busy fertilizing and watering the crops to ensure you have plenty of famous Jersey Sweet Corn and Tomatoes and more fruits and vegetable to pick. Farmer Johnson is preparing for the Fall pick your own crops with plenty of Pumpkins and a huge corn maze too.

Fall at the Farm – Farmer Johnson farming work gets a little lighter, just in time for the many visitor who come to pick their own apples, enjoy the breathtaking view of 100’s of pumpkins planted, and ready for you to find the perfect one for your fall decorating.  A few brisk mornings are welcome relief from the the long hot days of summer.  The day of frost on the pumpkins is a reminder that all too soon the beautiful fall weather will be a thing of the past – but the pumpkins take well to a little frost, and quickly goes away as the sun shines bright.  A few other crops love the cooler weather and are available for you to pick fresh for the dinner table.

Winter-time at the Farm – Farmer Johnson and his helpers get a bit of a break, and enjoy family holidays – but not for too long, and it’s time to start planning for the next season, and many tools and tractors taking a break to that need a little tender loving care after another season of helping to produce acres of fruit and vegetables ready for picking.
